6 Months

Wyatt had his 6 month doctor's appointment on Thursday and checked out as a healthy boy! He weighed 18 pounds, 14 ounces and was 28 inches long. That puts him in the 80th percentile for weight and the 94th percentile for height. Who ever would have thought I would have a child that big! He has had a good week and has kept very busy at school. They are working with him on sitting up and on tummy time. He still does not seem to enjoy tummy time and will flip himself over almost immediately. His teachers have started putting pillows next to him to trap him on his tummy so he gets some tummy time in. They said he is not always very happy with them...but then he gets some time being spoiled afterwards:) Today there were only 3 kids in his class so he definitely got spoiled today! He still enjoys going on buggy rides around the school and all of the staff there always try to get him to smile to see his dimples. He has an infectious smile:)

A Great Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a great time down at Norris Lake with the Glassmeyers. Wyatt and I went down Wednesday morning with GG and then Matt met us down there that night. Wyatt had fun playing with all of his cousins for the weekend...Andrew, Wil, Ryan, Lucy, Grace, and Hannah. It was fun having everyone together:) Thanks for a great Thanksgiving GG and Grandpa!

It's hard to believe but Wyatt is 6 months old today! The time has flown by. He goes to the doctor on Thursday so it will be interesting to see how much he weighs and how long he is. He is getting close to being able to sit by himself...he can do it for a brief period of time but then usually ends up face planting. He seems to really enjoy sitting in his Bumbo seat, playing in his exersaucer, and just rolling around on the floor playing with toys. He has no interest in putting his feet down or in standing. I guess that will come when he is ready...he has too much weight to support:) He continues to enjoy trying different foods and his favorites right now are bananas, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He is going to try pears tomorrow for the first time!

Well, I hope everyone had a good weekend and has a good week. Oh yeah, and Mosley turned 5 on Friday! She got to spend the weekend with Nana and Papa and get spoiled. She came home exhausted and has been in bed since we walked in the door:) Enjoy the pictures.

A Great Week

Wyatt had a great week...he is finally back to himself. He has been sleeping so much better at night:) His teachers said he had a great week at school. He has really enjoyed sitting in the Bumbo seat at school and looking at himself in the mirror or looking outside. He also went for a few buggy rides this week which he enjoys. So far we have had a good weekend. Saturday morning Wyatt and I hung out and played at home. Then after his nap we went over to Nana and Papa's house for the rest of the day. Wyatt, Nana, Mosley, and I went for a walk in the woods this afternoon in the beautiful weather. It was so pretty back in the woods! Wyatt's Great Aunt and Uncle, Vicki and John, are here visiting from West Virginia for the weekend so he got to meet them for the first time. They are at the UC-West Virginia game tonight with my parents while we hang out at their house. We are all having a sleepover at Nana and Papa's house tonight (even Mosley) and then Matt and I are going to the Bengal's game tomorrow while Wyatt gets to hang out with Aunt Michelle and Evan. A fun weekend! I hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Today Matt and I took Wyatt swimming in a pool for the first time and he loved it! He sat in the water and splashed and looked around checking everything out. He even splashed water all over his face but didn't seem to mind it at all. I guess it wore him out because he fell asleep before we even left the fitness center.

He is finally feeling better and seems to have gotten over both the croup and the ear infection. He is beginning to sleep a little better at night but still seems to be a little thrown off with the time change. He is wanting to get up at 5:00 or 5:30...too early for me. He continues to do well with his food. He tried sweet potatoes for the first time the other day and loves them! Yesterday he began showing a little interest in trying to get his knees under him while on his tummy and even scooted a couple of inches. He's doing better with tummy time and has even rolled himself over on purpose to lay on his tummy and hasn't gotten mad. Yesterday he was laying on his tummy, tongue out (he has definitely discovered his tongue and it is constantly out), staring at the dog chewing on her bone. He would not take his eyes off her. It was pretty funny and now I found the trick to tummy time:)

Well, I am going to go eat lunch and then hopefully cheer the Bengals on to a win!

Sick...Once Again

This has been a rough couple of months for the little man...and for his parents. We found out on Monday that Wyatt has croup and an ear infection. He has been congested for awhile but began coughing on Sunday, so I took him to the doctor on Monday to find out the wonderful news. We had to go to the Outpatient Children's Hospital in Mason for a chest x-ray, which Wyatt did not like at all. Through it all though he has been a little trooper. He has not been coughing as much as I expected so hopefully we caught it early. He had a shot of steroids at the doctor to try to help break up the congestion in his cough and then was put on antibiotics for his ear infection. He will hopefully be able to return to school on Friday:) Thank you to GG and Nana for their help this week!

Tonight Wyatt had green beans for the first time and was not a big fan of them. He made faces at me and basically spit them out every time I tried to put them in his mouth. I began mixing in a little with his oatmeal to try to get him to eat them. Tonight he also began showing an interest in the spoon and in feeding himself. So I was letting him grab the spoon with me and put it in his mouth. I think he managed to grab the part of the spoon with the food on it as much as he did the handle. He was loving it though and needless to say is a mess! Oh well, it's almost bath time. Right now he is laying on the floor playing and talking while I update the blog. It's nice of him to let me do this:) Once he goes to bed I need to sit down and write my conferences. This week is parent/teacher conferences on top of everything that is going on with Wyatt. The fun never ends!

Happy Halloween!

We hope everyone had a great Halloween. Wyatt dressed up like a hot dog for his first Halloween and did great. There was a parade at his school during the day and Wyatt's teachers got all of the infants dressed in their costumes and took them in the parade. They said Wyatt just laid there and looked around at everyone. They also said that people who didn't even know him were taking pictures because of his hot dog costume:) That night I put Wyatt in his wagon and we walked around the neighborhood before treat-or-treat started. He loves his walks! Then Matt, Wyatt, and I sat in our driveway and handed out candy. It was a beautiful night to be outside!

Wyatt continues to do well eating his vegetables and oatmeal. He tried carrots for the first time on Tuesday and loved them! I think he likes them a little better than the peas:) He is definitely a growing boy and is a good eater! I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and weekend.
