Busy Times

It's been awhile since I've posted. We've had some busy weekends while we've been closing in on the baby's due date...2 1/2 weeks! (I am so ready!) We had a great Labor Day weekend and got to spend a lot of time with friends and family. On Friday night we took Wyatt to the AVP Tour volleyball games with Nana, Papa, and Evan. He enjoyed watching the volleyball and playing with Evan. On Saturday we spent all day at our friends Jim and Ashley's place for a Notre Dame party. It was a beautiful day and we were able to spend all day outside. Also, our good friends Adam and Kenda were in town and we got to hang out with them on Saturday and Sunday. It was so good to see them! On Monday we had Nana, Papa, Doug, Tara, and Evan over for brunch and then after that got to relax and hang out around the house:) A busy, but fun weekend.

Last weekend Wyatt and Matt were able to spend a lot of quality time together. On Saturday I hosted a baby shower at the house for my friend Julie, so Matt took Wyatt out for awhile. They went to Columbus for the opening of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Wyatt enjoyed checking out all of the cool motorcycles:) On Sunday we went to the Loveland Art Show and met our friend Mike with his two boys. I got to hang out for a little but then went to the Bengals game while Matt stayed with Wyatt. It was another beautiful day and a great day to be outside!

Today we had a great day just the three of us hanging out. We went to Alms Park that overlooks Lunken Airport in the morning to play. We watched planes take off and land and played on the climber. Then we went to the restaurant at Lunken Airport for lunch and got to check out a B-17 Bomber! It was a great day:) We have also been enjoying our new screen porch...it has been perfect weather for hanging out on it and we have spent almost every night out there.

Back to School

Wyatt has had a very smooth transition to his new room at school. He seems to like his new teachers Ms. Katie and Ms. Amanda and they said he is doing well. We hit a little bump in the road last week when he decided to get sick for my first day back with children. So he missed Wednesday and Friday of last week but was fully recovered by the weekend. I think he managed to do this last year too:) Last weekend we spent the entire weekend at Nana and Papa's house because Matt had a conference at the University of Cincinnati. Wyatt enjoyed some quality time with Nana and Papa and it was nice to be able to sneak away for some shopping on Sunday with Nana while Papa babysat. We are looking forward to a great time with friends this weekend!

Only 5 weeks until the baby is due:)

Friends from France

We had a great 10 days with Elodie, David, and Oscar who were in town visiting from France. Elodie is like a sister to me and it was so nice to see her and meet her family...this was David's first visit to the USA and their son Oscar (18 months) and Wyatt had a lot of fun together. We stayed very busy while they were here showing them all of the sights of Cincinnati. We also made a 3 day trip to Asheville, NC to visit (my brother) Doug and his new wife Tara. It was a great visit! We hope to make it to France in the next couple of years to visit them:)

Wyatt goes back to school tomorrow...starting in a new room with new teachers. It should be an interesting drop off tomorrow morning! I think he has gotten very used to being home with me for the past 2 months. Then I return to work on Wednesday getting ready for a new school year. We are also getting ready for the new baby! I am now (almost) 33 weeks and am ready for the baby to be here...even though I have 7 weeks left. Hopefully it will go by quickly because I will be busy with work. We have the nursery all set up and ready for the new baby and Wyatt is really enjoying being in his new "big boy" room.

We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Funny Stuff

I know I just posted but it has proven to be rather interesting and funny having Wyatt in a big boy bed. Last night when I went upstairs to check on him this is where I found him asleep:

What made him decide that on the floor, half way under his bed was a good place to sleep is beyond me. He took his blanket, bunny, lamb, and pacifier with him though:)

Then today when he was supposed to be napping...which he never did...I heard a faint crying coming through the monitor. I went upstairs to check on him and couldn't find him. I looked in the bathroom and was calling his name when I heard him say "need help." I opened the closet door and he had shut himself in his closet and couldn't get out. As soon as I opened the door he said "go downstairs" and was totally fine. Needless to say that was the end of his quiet time.

I'm sure there are more interesting and funny things to happen now that he has the freedom to get out of bed. He keeps life interesting:)

It's Official

Wyatt has officially made the transition to his "big boy" room! About a week and a half ago he asked Matt, after story time, if he could sleep in his big boy bed...so we went for it. And he hasn't turned back. We have moved all of his clothes, toys, and books to his new room and all we have left to do is hang pictures and his name up on the wall. He seems to really like it:)

It's hard to believe but Wyatt and I only have 3 weeks left together before we both go back to school. I'm not ready for summer to be over! Last week Nana and I took Wyatt to the Aquarium for the first time. He loved looking at the fish, turtles, alligators, jellyfish, and sharks...and especially liked watching the penguins swim and jump into the water. I hope to make it back again before our summer comes to an end.

Wyatt, Mosley, and I have been enjoying our morning walks. I am slowing down a little but am still getting out there. I'm 30 weeks today and am looking forward to the new baby arriving. Wyatt knows there is a baby in my belly but I don't think he truly knows what it means. I'm sure there will be a little jealously but I guess that is normal. I think he will be a good big brother:)

Norris

We had a great 10 day vacation to Norris Lake! We were down there for the Fourth of July with the Glassmeyers and as always had a great time. Wyatt enjoyed seeing and playing with all of his cousins, aunts, uncles, and of course GG and Grandpa. The parade on the fourth was a big success and continues to get bigger each year. This year Wyatt rode on the golf cart some and walked some with Matt and I. It was fun seeing all of the decorated golf carts! The Glassmeyers all left by Monday and Matt, Wyatt, and I stayed down for some quiet time during the week. During that time we went on lots of golf cart rides to look for "scoopy tractors"...as Wyatt calls any tractor that can scoop or move dirt. By the end of the week he knew where all of the scoopy tractors were in Deerfield:)

On Thursday our friends Shannon and Jesse arrived from Denver for the weekend and Julie and Will arrived on Friday from Cincinnati. We had a great weekend with all of them and it was so great to see Shannon and Jesse! We went on lots of boat rides and Wyatt enjoyed watching daddy, Shannon, and Jesse wakeboard, jump off the bridge, and go on the rope swing. We had lots of fun but were all ready to be home on Sunday. I think Wyatt was happy to be back in his own bed:)

Matt started his new job on Monday and so far it is going well. We miss having him around during the day but I am happy he is working again. I have 5 weeks left of summer until it's back to work for me:( Here are some pictures to enjoy but you can see more if you click on the link "More Fun Photos" on the left side of the page. Hope everyone is having a good week!
