First Birthday Party!

It's hard to believe but the little man is almost one! We celebrated last Sunday at my parent's house with family and friends. Thank you to everyone who was able to come to the party...it meant a lot to us to have you all there. A big thanks to Nana and Papa though for allowing us to have the party at their house and to Nana for all of her hard work! We really appreciate it:)

Wyatt had a great time and absolutely loved his cake. We had a great day and it was nice to be able to get outside. All of the kids enjoyed playing out in the driveway. Mosley had a really good time playing and was so tired and sore that night she could barely walk. Even though she is five she hasn't quite learned when to stop playing:)

We have had a busy week and are looking forward to a nice weekend at Norris Lake for Memorial Day. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend!

First Haircut

Wyatt had his first haircut today and now looks like such a big boy. He really needed one because his hair was hanging down in his eyes. It was a little sad to see some of the curls go but I'm sure they will be back. He got to sit in a little car and watch a Baby Einstein video while getting it cut and he did great. It was pretty cute:)

Last weekend Wyatt and I went to our friend's twins first birthday party. Josie and Maddie turned 1 on Monday but we helped them celebrate on Saturday. It was a beautiful day to be outside! Wyatt really enjoyed the puppet show they had and he had his first taste of a cupcake with icing...and of course liked it:) On Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day by hanging around the house and then going to my parent's house for dinner. Wyatt slept in until 7:00 for me...he must have known. I even got to sneak away to church and to the gym to have some me time:) It was a really nice weekend.

A Day Outside

I know it's already Wednesday but we had a great weekend. Wyatt's cousin Grace had her 3rd birthday party on Sunday at the park and the weather was beautiful. I think all of the kids had a great time. Wyatt spent most of the time hanging out on the blanket playing with his ball and his cups. Hannah stopped and visited with him some. Of course Wyatt had to do some swinging too! Also on Sunday, Wyatt and I stopped by the Day's house, a family whose daughters go to CMH (where I teach). My friend Kenda was watching the girl's, Sydney (8) and Sarah (6), for the day and they wanted to play with Wyatt. So we went over there in the afternoon for a little and Wyatt had fun playing with them.

Wyatt is starting to say so many words and is trying to repeat words we say all of the time. His favorites right now are ball, bye bye, doggie, and uh-oh. He absolutely loves playing with a ball and would probably do that all day long! He got a new beach ball at Grace's birthday party and loves it!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

11 Months!

It's hard to believe that Wyatt is already 11 months old! He will be a year before we know it. Last weekend the weather was decent so we were able to spend some time outside. On Saturday Nana, Evan, Wyatt, and I went to the Flower Show at Coney Island for the afternoon. It turned out to be sunny and beautiful so it was a nice day to be outside. Wyatt kicked back and relaxed in his stroller while we walked around. On Sunday Matt, Wyatt, Mosley, and I went to get ice cream and then to the park. Wyatt had his first taste of ice cream and seemed to like it. He would open his mouth and wait for more:) At the park he got to swing and go down the slide. He loves swinging and just grinned from ear to ear as the wind blew in his face. After swinging we walked on the trails around the park and Mosley got to go for a dip in the creek...she was a happy dog!

This week Wyatt had his school pictures taken so I'm looking forward to seeing how they turned out. They even took a class picture with the infants! That should be funny to see. His teachers said he was sitting in the front just grinning. He is such a ham for the camera!

I hope everyone is having a good week and enjoy your weekend!

Fun at the Children's Museum

On Saturday Nana and I took Wyatt to the Cincinnati Children's Museum for the first time. We explored a lot of the areas and Wyatt enjoyed them all. He especially enjoyed the area made for the little ones. He found a ball to play with and crawled around all over. He also liked going down the slide on his belly. He was exhausted on Saturday night from that and Gymboree in the morning. He is starting to explore so much more at Gymboree and participate in all of the activities. He let out his happy squeal a couple of times on Saturday which was pretty funny. Also, at Gymboree he pulled himself up to a stand independently for the first time! Now he is starting to do it a lot more and is learning how to sit down on his own without crashing. At school they have started going outside everyday with the nice weather. Wyatt's teachers said he absolutely loves being outside on the playground...exploring in the grass and swinging. They said the first time they put him in the grass it didn't bother him at all. It will be nice this summer to spend a lot of time outside playing and swimming! I hope everyone is having a good week.

A Day at Keeneland

It's been a good weekend and today we ended it by spending the day at Keeneland in Lexington. Wyatt got to enjoy his first horse race! Luckily we were inside in a corporate box because the weather was nasty...it was cold and rainy. Matt and I didn't fare so well in the betting department but we had a great day. Chris and Francesca, my parents, and some family friends were down there also. Wyatt did great despite smacking his nose on the table and getting his first bloody nose:)

He is crawling all over now and has discovered he can crawl from room to room, not just over to get his toys. So needless to say he is having a great time! He has discovered the steps but just kneels and plays on the first step...he hasn't figured out how to go up yet, which is a good thing. I'm sure it won't be long. We were playing in the basement yesterday and he was all over the place. Matt built a little fort with a blanket and Wyatt loved sitting in that to play. He is changing so quickly and is so much more a little boy than a baby now. He also looks like a little boy! Have a great week.
