A Great Week!

We spent the last week at Norris Lake with GG and Gramps, Mike, Ellen, Grace, and Hannah. We had such a good time and it was fun to hang out with family. Wyatt had fun playing with Grace and Hannah and had fun spending time with GG and Gramps. He says "GG" really well now and is starting to try to say "Grandpa", even though it doesn't quite sound like Grandpa yet. He's working on it though. During the week we went for boat rides, went wakeboarding and tubing, went for many golf cart rides, went swimming in the pool and lake, and just hung out. It was nice to be down there for an entire week. Wyatt and Hannah both went tubing for the first time and both seemed to enjoy it...actually I think Hannah loved it! It seems like she's going to be the adventurous one, not Wyatt. Maybe she'll rub off on him some:) Thank you GG and Grandpa for such a wonderful week!

Today Nana and I took Wyatt to Sharon Woods park where they have a water play area for the kids. He absolutely loved it! He especially liked the little stream that he could play in. He spent most of the time splashing in that, climbing up the sides, and then scooting down back into the water. We are going to go back on Friday and take Evan. It was so much fun watching him play!

Here are a lot of pictures to look at!

Not Feeling Well

Early yesterday morning Wyatt woke up with a 102 degree fever and hasn't been feeling well since then. In the afternoon his fever got up to 103.8 degrees! He was miserable. I took him to the doctor yesterday to have his ears checked because of his history of ear infections, but he didn't have one. The doctor said it's just a virus...I've heard that so many times. But she also said that he is cutting 8 teeth right now. Ouch! He is getting his molars and his I teeth, which she said usually don't all come in at the same time. That could be contributing to some of his misery. Since he has felt bad I have pretty much had a child attached to me...even through the night. I'm hoping that this is a short lived virus and his teeth come in soon! We are supposed to leave for Norris Lake tomorrow morning for the week so we'll see how he's doing. I hope everyone is having a better start to their weekend!

First Steps!

Wyatt took his first official steps this evening at Nana and Papa's house on their screened in porch. He took about four steps while walking from me to Nana. He was so proud of himself! He just kept trying to walk back and forth between us...sometimes successful, sometimes not. We actually had the video camera with us so Matt got some on tape. It's pretty funny because he just had on his t-shirt and diaper and no pants...the same as Evan when he took his first steps, in the same spot. What a coincidence:)

The rest of our weekend was busy but nice. Wyatt had his second hair cut on Saturday which was much needed. His hair was getting a little crazy! Wyatt was a little cranky on Friday and Saturday but was a lot better today. He is cutting some teeth right now which I think are bothering him. We took Wyatt swimming a few times over the weekend and he is becoming a lot more comfortable in the water now. I've been trying to take him often so he learns to really love it. I can't have a child who doesn't like to swim:) Actually on Friday the only places he was really happy was outside...at the park and swimming. Wyatt, Nana, Evan, and I had a picnic at the park on Friday and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Then Wyatt and I went swimming at our neighborhood pool that night. Well, here are some pictures from the weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed theirs!

July 4th

We had a wonderful long 4th of July weekend down at Norris Lake with the Glassmeyers. Thank you GG and Grandpa for having us down there! Wyatt had fun playing with GG, Grandpa, and his cousins. It was fun to see him and Hannah "play" together...they really just play next to each other and then every now and then would get into it over a toy. It was funny to see how they tried to work it out. Usually Wyatt backs down but he started to assert himself a little. Then you would look over and they would be giving each other a kiss:)

The 4th of July parade down there is always fun and this year Wyatt and Hannah rode together in the wagon. Hannah bailed out about half way through but Wyatt just kicked back and enjoyed the ride. All of the kids looked so cute in their t-shirts that Aunt Ellen made for them. Thanks Ellen! We are looking forward to going back down to the lake in a couple of weeks!

Wyatt seems to be getting pretty close to taking those first steps. He will now stand up on his own and balance and then plop down. He has taken one little step and then fallen a couple of times, so walking probably isn't too far away. He likes to walk holding our hands now and he sings while walking around. He is so proud of himself! He is also trying to repeat everything! He started saying GG right before we went down to the lake so that was fun for her. He is also picking up on signs so quickly. I am having a hard time keeping up with him:)

Well, I hope everyone is having a good week and has a wonderful weekend!
