July 4th

We had a wonderful long 4th of July weekend down at Norris Lake with the Glassmeyers. Thank you GG and Grandpa for having us down there! Wyatt had fun playing with GG, Grandpa, and his cousins. It was fun to see him and Hannah "play" together...they really just play next to each other and then every now and then would get into it over a toy. It was funny to see how they tried to work it out. Usually Wyatt backs down but he started to assert himself a little. Then you would look over and they would be giving each other a kiss:)

The 4th of July parade down there is always fun and this year Wyatt and Hannah rode together in the wagon. Hannah bailed out about half way through but Wyatt just kicked back and enjoyed the ride. All of the kids looked so cute in their t-shirts that Aunt Ellen made for them. Thanks Ellen! We are looking forward to going back down to the lake in a couple of weeks!

Wyatt seems to be getting pretty close to taking those first steps. He will now stand up on his own and balance and then plop down. He has taken one little step and then fallen a couple of times, so walking probably isn't too far away. He likes to walk holding our hands now and he sings while walking around. He is so proud of himself! He is also trying to repeat everything! He started saying GG right before we went down to the lake so that was fun for her. He is also picking up on signs so quickly. I am having a hard time keeping up with him:)

Well, I hope everyone is having a good week and has a wonderful weekend!

Chill Time

It's been awhile since I've updated and it's been pretty quiet around here. It's been fun spending a lot of time with Wyatt. He's still enjoying going to school two days a week and I am enjoying some time to get stuff done. On the other days we have been hanging out...going swimming, playing at home, playing outside, hanging out at Nana and Papa's, and just chillin. We are gearing up for a long Fourth of July weekend at Norris Lake with the Glassmeyers and are really looking forward to it. We are leaving tomorrow night at Wyatt's bedtime hoping that he will sleep for most of the car ride...let's keep our fingers crossed:)

This past Friday we went to Wyatt's buddy Drew's first birthday party. Drew was hilarious with his cake and dug right in! Wyatt's highlight of the night was going up and down the stair to their screened porch...which he did almost the entire time. Also, Uncle Chris (aka Uncle Awesome) made up a sign for "awesome" and taught it to Wyatt that night. Now whenever you say "awesome" he signs it. He has really been taking off with his signing and seems to really enjoy learning new words. Many of them he also tries to say. It is so nice having him be able to communicate with us when he is not able to with words. Sometimes we just walk around the house and Wyatt signs everything he knows...it's pretty cute.

I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July!

Historic Airplane Ride

Today was a fun day for Wyatt, GG, and I! We went to visit Grandma at Lunken Airport to see the Historic Ford Tri-Motor Airplane that was in town for a long weekend and ended up taking a ride in it. Thanks Grandma! The plane was number 146 of the 199 that were built between the years 1926 and 1933. This one first flew on August 21, 1929. It was neat to fly so low to the ground because you could see everything so clearly...we even saw the house that Matt grew up in. Wyatt seemed to really enjoy the ride and looked out the window most of the time. He also kept saying "vroom, vroom" because that's the noise the engines were making:) It wasn't too loud and the ride was a lot smoother than I anticipated. It was a lot of fun!

Weekend with Daddy

Wyatt and Matt got to spend Father's Day weekend together while I took a trip to Colorado to visit a good friend of mine. I had a very relaxing and fun weekend, which was a great way to start off my summer...I am officially done with work for the summer:) On Saturday while Matt worked Wyatt stayed with Nana and Papa. Papa took him and Mosley running in the morning and then they just hung around the house and played the rest of the day. Nana said one of his favorite things to do was play in their garage. She said he crawled around checking out the tires on all of the cars...like father, like son:) Then on Sunday Matt and Wyatt got to hang out together all day.

Today Nana, Wyatt, and I went down to Sawyer Point to play at the playground. Then we met Papa for lunch on Fountain Square. It was such a beautiful day we tried to get outside as much as possible! Wyatt and I enjoyed an evening walk tonight, trying to dodge cicadas on the way:) It has been a good week so far.

Thanks for the shirt Adam and Kenda!

Wyatt's Second Car Show

It's hard to believe but this weekend was Wyatt's second annual Concours car show! Last year he was only a couple of weeks old...he probably enjoyed it a little more this year:) On Sunday Matt had to work the show so Wyatt and I went with Nana, Papa, and Evan. It was blazing hot but we all had a good time. It's nice that there were shady places to sit to get out of the sun. That evening, after a long afternoon nap, Matt and I took Wyatt swimming at our neighborhood pool. He is a little hesitant right now, but I'm hoping once he gets going he will have as much fun in the water as he did in Florida. I plan on taking him swimming a lot this summer:)

We started off the weekend a little rough with Wyatt not feeling well. He had a fever from Wednesday morning to Thursday night, an ear infection, and then on Friday a viral rash appeared all over him. By Saturday afternoon though he was back to his happy, smiling self. The rash is about gone:) So all in all, in ended up being a nice weekend. I hope everyone has a good week!

I think the Cobra looks good in our garage:)
